4 in the morning. We have to keep the pup calm, so we have to
take her outside on leash. This morning, she was up and needed
out, so I just put on shoes and my coat. Well, that was the wrong
thing to do......LOL I was about frozen when we came back in 5
minutes later. She would of stayed out longer to play if I had let
her......LOL
I have gotten my morning routine done and am now getting ready
to clean out the ice box. Today is our trash day, so it will be picked
up and I won't have to worry about the strays getting into it. I do
really need to figure out a easier way of keeping it clean as that is
one thing that I really hate to do. Any and all suggestions are wel-
come.

The Pup is home.......
We picked up the pup yesterday from the vet and
she is one stoned puppy.....LOL!!!!! She was having
some problems walking but that is to be understood
as the vet had given her some pain meds for the ride
home. She did pretty good on the way home until she
had a accident in DH's truck. I tried to get that cleaned
up when we got home, but there is only so much that
I could do with it freezing outside.
She slept most of the day and only ate 1/2 of what she
normally does in dog food, but loved the cookies that
I made for her on Monday. I also gave her some dog
biscuits and cheese. Had to give her some meds and
she will take that with the cheese, but didn't want
it to upset her tummy.
I took her out this morning, and she is acting a bit
more normal, so that is a good sign that she is feeling
better. We have to keep her as calm as possible until
the 6th of Feb. so that the internal stitches heal and
dissolve. That will be a chore!!!!!

Doggie Cookies
I just finished making the dogs some peanut butter
doggie cookies. They both love them and are usually
under my feet when I am making them. I figure that
the pup deserves a special treat when she comes
home from the vet tommorrow.
The house is all clean and the dishes are done. I have
one load of clothes in the washer. So, will have that
done in a bit.
Not much planned for the day as it is snowing and
I woke up really early.

Starting My Day
I woke up at 5:30 this morning and couldn't go back to
sleep. I guess that my internal clock needs to to be
rebooted on the weekends. LOL!!!!!!!!
Today, it is suppose to be windy and than, this evening
the snow is suppose to start and end sometime Monday
morning. I am hoping that it won't be to bad out as Monday
morning, we take our pup to get spayed.
I have most of my morning routine done already and
am now relaxing with a cup of coffee and listening to
the radio. We don't have plans for the day yet. We
might do something before the snow starts. DH and
I cleaned the house yesterday, so we don't need to
worry about that. I know that on the "FLY"Lady
system, she does a weekly home blessing on Mondays.
But, I really like to do one of Friday night or Saturday
mornings, so that I really don't need to worry about the
house. I can relax and enjoy the weekend with my
family.

Relaxing Today
Yesterday, DH had his appointment for the nerve test on his legs. According to the
doctor there is no nerve damage, so that is good news. Now, it is back to the waiting
game until they set up the surgery.
My MIL will be having surgery to remove bone tumors on her knee next Thrusday, but
we are not sure if we will be able to be there. It all depends on when they schedule
DH's. My SIL will be there with MIL so am not to worried.
I have been doing pretty good on keeping the house picked up, so it doesn't look to
bad, but do need to vaccum and dust today. I should also clean out a couple of my
dresser drawers but think that I will just take it easy today.
The weather here is now really cold and it is a big shock as yesterday it was warm and
alot of our snow had melted. We are suppose to get snow this weekend. Yuck!!!!!!!

Busy.......on the phone
Yesterday, DH and I spent most of the day on the phone. Both
of us were getting upset and ended up snapping at one another.
It wasn't over anything big, just little stuff that finally broke the
camel's back as they say.
We did get something accomplished. DH, now, has his appointment
for the nerve test on his legs. From what we understand, the case
worker approved it but wanted him to go to Kearney, Ne. Now,
he has problems riding in the car just here in Omaha, how in the
world would he make that trip, than do the test, and than come
home. He would be in so much pain. To drive to Kearney, it is
about 3 hours one way. The poor man can't sit for 30 minutes in
his chair. But we finally got it approved for here in Omaha. His
test is scheduled for this Thrusday. After the test we will know
how much nerve damage there is and what to expect after the
surgery.
I do think that one of the reasons that we are snapping at each
other is that we are not use to him being around 24/7. I know
that it is throwing off my routines and things that I normally do
through out the day. I also know that he is upset because of not
working. Both of us in pain isn't helping the situation either.

Snow
I woke up to snow this morning, not alot just about a .5 inch
The worse part of winter for me is the wind. It just seems to
cut right through me. Actually, I should say that the cold is
what bothers me the most as the colder it gets the more I hurt.
I finished my morning routine and have started decluttering
my spare bedroom closet. It is actually my dd's room, but since
she moved out, dh and I decided to make it the spare room. I
have been doing really well on getting rid of things that I don't
love, don't need or is trash.
I still need to work on my cookbooks that I have collected or that
have been given to me. That is one of my down falls. I love
cookbooks. LOL!!!!! I love to cook!!!!! Really don't like the cleaning
up part, but you have to make a mess sometimes!!!!!! Tonight dh
wants pizza, so that will be a quick and easy meal. I love the WW
deep dish pizza, but will make 2 thin crust pizzas tonight as I want
mushrooms, peppers, and other veggies on mine and dh doesn't eat
to many veggies.

Still cold...........
It is still really cold out and all I want to do is curl up
with my electric blanket. LOL!!!! DH cooked supper
for me tonight. He made steak, potatoes and a veggie.
It was really good. I was hoping that he would make
soup or stew, but nope he wanted steak.
I think that I might make some homemade bread in
the morning. I do have a bread machine so will mix
the dough in there, but bake it in the oven to help
heat the house.
I did get the pantry and the living room closet all
cleaned out. I do need to make a list of what I have
so I can get it used up and purchase what I need.
I also started cleaning out my kitchen cupboards.
I hope that everyone is staying warm

It is Cold..............
I am sitting here this morning in my pjs with a cup of coffee.
Just finished letting the dogs back in and about froze....LOL
It is below zero here this morning, but the wind is terrible.
It just cuts right through you.
I have been working on trying to do menu planning, but just
can't seem to get that going. I usually ask dh what he wants
as I get tired of always cooking the same old thing. DH is a
meat and potatoes guy and doesn't eat that lots of veggies
So, that is a problem as lots of reciepes call for veggies that
he won't eat and you can't sub in what ones he will eat.
I need to get in gear and finish up my morning routines
done. The are about half way done and it will only take
a few minutes to finish them and get some other cleaning
done

Migraine
I wasn't on yesterday as I had a migraine. I am feeling much better now, but spent all day in bed. I have finally straightened up the house and got that back into order. It didn't take a lot of time to do that as dh was not feeling well either.
The dr. wants to do a nerve study of dh's leg before the surgery so we will know what to expect after back surgery. We are still waiting for work comp to approve that test, so we are not sure when the surgery will be. DH will be in the hospital at least 2 days maybe three to recoup before comming home. He will be off work for at least 1 month but could be off up to 6 months depending on how it is healing.
I got a nice surprise today when I logged on. I recieved my first award from Anne at peekaboostreet.blogspot.com. I just recently started my blog when Anne stopped by for a visit and left a message. I am "Thankful" for her friendship and enjoy reading about her and her family.
This award focuses on the friendships that blossom here in blog land. Blogs who receive this award are ;exceedingly charming' say it's authors. This blog invests and believes in the PROXIMITY-nearness in space, time and relationships. These kink bloggers aim to find and be friends. They are not interested in prizes or self-aggrandizement. Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut, even more friendships are propagated. please give more attention to these writers! Deliver this award to eight bloggers who must choose eight more and include this award. "So according to the rules I must mention eight more bloggers with who to share this award with.
Unfortunately, I don't know many people that have blogs, but I do want to pass this award on to
two other people.

Busy Day
Today we go to see a specialist about my DH's back. We find out what the options are and if surgery will help. I am hoping and praying that if we do decide on the surgery that dh will be able to do the things that he loves without the pain that he is in now. He has a real hard time sitting or standing for any length of time. Believe me, he has never really been someone to sit still for to long but with this injury, he can only sit for about 15 minutes and than has to move. It is the same with standing. I can understand what he is going through concerning the pain.
I have my morning routine done and have started doing some of my afternoon routine as his appt is at 1130. We will probably just have leftovers for dinner. I made tator tot casserole last night, so will plan to finish that off. Have a great day

Smelling............
Fresh homemade bread. I love that smell and it reminds me so much of being with my GP, DA and DU. That brings back good memories. My DGM loved to make homemade bread, noodles, sweet rolls, coffee cake, fudge, cookies, popcorn balls and tons of other things. I have such fond memories of sneaking cookie dough out of the bowl and eating it. Her acting like she was upset, but doing the same thing. LOL I made some cinnamon honey butter to put on it. YUMMMMMMMMY!!!!!!!
I am doing a 12 week challenge concerning my weight and today is the official start day. If anyone is doing WW points (I have the at home kit that I purchased yrs ago, but will use it) I would love to get recipes and other info from you.

Filling breakfast
I got up late this morning, so I just finished eating my breakfast. I scrambled 3 egg whites, 3 oz of ham, a few tatar tots and some swiss cheese and wrapped it all up in a tomato basil wrap. Awesome and very filling!!!! I will need to drink some extra water to get the salt from the ham out of my system, but it was worth it. The whole thing was only 6 points. That leaves me with 19 points for the rest of the day. Plus my aps for the day.
Not much going on today, do need to vaccum and dust. I have already finished up the laundry from yesterday and did my hotspots. Do need to decide what I will be making for supper. Might just have left overs. We do have lasagna in the ice box and some other things, like sloppy joes and taco meat. Oh, just figured out what I will be having........a taco salad......Yum!!!!!

A New Year.........
Sitting here this morning, I am thinking about all of the things that I would like to accomplish this year. Here are just a few in no special order...........
1. Lose weight....I know that is the number one thing that most people want to do and most of the time they fail at it. I just don't need to do it for health reasons. I also need to do it because I LOVE MYSELF!!
2. Keep my home clean and peaceful. I dont like the "CHAOS" that I feel if my home is not straightened up at least. I am not talking about deep down cleaning on a daily basis, but clean enough that I will not be embarrassed if someone would stop by.
3. Work on my relationship with God. I think that no matter how much someone prays that if they only have the one sided conversation and don't listen for his answer or guidance there isn't a relationship.
4. I would love to start doing some of my hobbies again. Some of them are seasonal related I will have to do them according to the weather.....ex gardening
I hope that everyone has some thoughts about what they want the "New Year" to be like for themselves and their families. I pray that all of them come true and that we find peace in all that we do.
